On December 20, 2014, King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden presided over the Nobel Prize ceremony in Stockholm, Sweden, a yearly highlight in the calendar of the Swedish royal court. Also present were other members of the royal family including Crown Princess Victoria and her husband Prince Daniel; Princess Madeleine, and her husband, Chris O’Neill; Prince Carl Philip and his fiancee, Sofia Hellqvist. Prizes in the field of Medicine, Physics, Chemistry, Literature, and Economics were awarded by the king to this year’s laureates.
