Tens of thousands of people cheered Queen Elizabeth II and members of the royal family in London during the Trooping the Colour ceremony which is held annually at Horse Guards Parade in Central London as an official celebration of the queen’s birthday. The queen rode down The Mall in an open landau with the Duke of Edinburgh by her side. The Prince of Wales, the Princess Royal, and the Duke of Cambridge rode in the procession dressed as Colonel of the Welsh Guards, Colonel of the Blues and Royals, and Colonel of the Irish Guards, respectively. Members of the royal family made their traditional appearance on the balcony of Buckingham Palace from where they witnessed a flypast of the Royal Air Force Red Arrows. Photos by Getty Images.
