The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge joined a crowd of over 35,000 at the Australian War Memorial in Canberra on April 25, 2016 for a ceremony at dawn to commemorate the 99th anniversary of the ill-fated Australian and New Zealand Corps (ANZAC) landing at Gallipoli.  At the War Memorial, the couple paid their respects to the war dead and placed posies of rosemary and Kangaroo Paw at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.  William and Catherine also planted an Aleppo Pine tree propagated from seeds taken from Gallipoli.  Photos by Getty Images.
