On April 22, 2014, day sixteen of their Antipodean tour, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited the famed Ayers Rock and met with members of the Aboriginal community of Australia. The couple were in Yulara where they paid a visit to the National Indigenous Training Academy and then it was on to the Uluru Cultural Centre where a traditional Aboriginal greeting awaited William and Catherine. The Chief Minister of the Northern Territory gave the duke and duchess afternoon tea. Accompanied by a guide, the couple walked along the base of the impressive Ayers Rock, also referred to as Uluru, a 350 meter high sandstone that is two miles long and a mile wide.
