The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge arrived in Sydney on April 16, 2014 and began the Australian leg of their three-week tour of the Antipodes. Catherine carried her son, George, as she descended the aircraft. The couple greeted crowds at the Sydney Opera House and in a speech, the Duke praised Australia as “a beacon of confidence.” The next day, William and Catherine were in Katoomba where they visited the Three Sisters Rocks. The duke and duchess also met with families who lost their homes due to brush fires in Winmalee and visited with Girl Guides and planted a tree at the Winmallee Guide Hall. Photos by Getty Images.
