THE EARL OF WESSEX TURNS 50 YEARS OLD

Prince Edward, the Earl of Wessex, the youngest son of Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh, turned 50 years old on March 10, 2014.  On his birthday, the earl, accompanied by his wife, Sophie, the Countess of Wessex, visited the   Robert Browning Primary School in Walworth, London, during the course of which he was presented with a birthday cake which he duly cut.  The earl and countess also joined other members of the royal family at Westminster Abbey where they attended a Commonwealth observance service.  Photos by Getty Images.
