The Belgian royal family commemorated the twentieth anniversary of the death of King Baudouin by attending a Mass in Brussels at the Cathedrale des Saints-Michel-et-Gudule on July 31, 2013.  In attendance were the country’s new monarchs, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde; Prince Lorentz and Princess Astrid; Prince Laurent and Princess Claire; King Albert, and his wife, Queen Paola; and King Baudouin’s widow, Queen Fabiola.  Baudouin was King of the Belgians from 1951 until his death in 1993 and was succeeded by his brother, Albert II, who in turn, abdicated ten days ago in favor of his son, Philippe.  Photos by Getty Images.
