Queen Elizabeth graced Royal Ascot 2013 with her presence on days two and three. The famous annual horse race meeting is a high point of the social calendar in Britain. Many members of the British royal family attend the meets with regularity and this year is no exception. On day two, the queen and her daughter-in-law, the Duchess of Cornwall, appeared to have coordinated their outfits, as they were dressed in similar shades of green. On day three, Queen Elizabeth dressed in purple, was accompanied in an open carriage by her grandson, Peter Phillips and his wife Autumn, as well as the Duke of York. Also in attendance on day three of Royal Ascot were the Princess Royal and Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie of York. Members of the royal family were celebrating on June 20th, the victory of the queen’s horse, Estimate, in the Gold Cup. This was the first time a reigning monarch’s horse won the prestigious race. The Duke of York presented the Gold Cup to his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, who beamed in delight at the trophy. Photos by PacificCoastNews and Getty Images.
