THE DUCHESS OF CAMBRIDGE CHRISTENS CRUISE SHIP THE ROYAL PRINCESS

The Duchess of Cambridge, who is eight months pregnant, christened the cruise ship, The Royal Princess, in Southampton, England on June 13, 2013.  Wearing a black and white animal print coat dress, Catherine follows a line of royal ladies christening cruise ships such as Diana, Princess of Wales in 1984 and in 2007, the Duchess of Cornwall.  After making a short speech, in which Catherine says the traditional words associated with naming a ship, ‘I name this ship Royal Princess, may God bless her and all who sail in her,’ the duchess cut a cord which sent a Nebuchednezzar bottle of Moet & Chandon valued at more than 1,000 GBP, smashing into the hull of the ship.  This is the last scheduled solo official engagement of the Duchess of Cambridge before she gives birth in July.  Photos by Getty Images.
