The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall marked the 150th anniversary of the London Underground on January 30, 2013 by riding on a Metropolitan line train which took them from Farringdon to King’s Cross stations in one stop. Charles and Camilla swiped thier commemorative electronic ‘Oyster’ cards to enter the rail system. It was the first time that the prince and duchess traveled together on the famous Underground. At King’s Cross, the couple examined a model of the refurbished rail station and also made a stop at ‘Platform 3/4’ made famous by the Harry Potter books. At St. Pancras Station, Charles and Camilla also visited the newly remodeled St. Pancras Renaissance London Hotel. Photos by Getty Images.
