QUEEN ELIZABETH II AND THE DUKE OF EDINBURGH CELEBRATE THEIR 65TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY

Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.  On November 20, 1947, Princess Elizabeth married Lt. Philip Mountbatten, R.N., (born Prince Philip of Greece and Denmark) in Westminster Abbey in London.  The royal couple have four children, Prince Charles (b. 1948), Princess Anne (b. 1950), Prince Andrew (b. 1960) and Prince Edward (b. 1964).  Prince Philip has been a source of great support to queen during the course of her sixty year reign.  No reigning British monarch has celebrated a 65th wedding anniversary, so this event marks a milestone in British history.  On November 19, 2012, the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh attended a Royal Variety Performance at the Royal Albert Hall in London.  Photos by Bauer Griffin, Getty Images and Corbis.
