PRINCE CHARLES LENDS HIS SUPPORT FOR POPPY DAY & THE ROYAL BRITISH LEGION

The Prince of Wales helped kick off support for The Royal British Legion and armed forces families at Clarence House on November 1, 2012.  He met with Poppy Appeal volunteers during a campaign to raise £1 million in a single day from donations all over London.  Prince Charles met with Royal British Legion Riders Branch as well Poppy Appeal volunteers.  The Prince at one point boarded the London Poppy Day Routemaster bus and with a touch of humor, was asked if he could be kidnapped then held for ransom.   The Royal British Legion’s aim is to raise £42 million to help support armed forces families during this year’s appeal.  Photos by Bauer Griffin and Getty Images.
