THE LUXEMBOURG ROYAL FAMILY SET TO CELEBRATE A ROYAL WEDDING

The first major royal wedding to take place in Luxembourg since 1981 is set to take place on October 19 and 20, 2012 when Prince Guillaume, the eldest child and heir of Grand Duke Henri and his wife, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa, will marry Countess Stephanie de Lannoy.  Prince Guillaume’s fiancee was born in Belgium, the eighth and youngest child of Count Philippe de Lannoy (b. 1922)  and his wife, Countess Alix de Lannoy (1941-2012).   Sadly, Countess Stephanie’s mother died suddenly this past August and undoubtedly thoughts of her mother will be with Stephanie as she marries Guillaume.  Prince Guillaume (30) and Countess Stephanie (28) are set to marry in a civil ceremony, followed the next day by a religious one in Luxembourg’s cathedral.  Photos by Corbis.
