THE DUKE AND DUCHESS OF CAMBRIDGE IN SINGAPORE: DAY THREE

On day three, September 13, 2012, of their Diamond Jubilee tour of the Far East on behalf of the Queen, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge paid their respects to the war dead at the Kranji War Memorial in Singapore.  They also visited terminally ill children at Hospis Malaysia.  One of the children, Zakwan Anuar, chatted to the duchess, who wished him a happy birthday and writing, “Happy Birthday Zakwan – Catherine” on a card.  William and Catherine also drew pictures on clay tiles which will be displayed in the foyer of the hospice.  The duchess, who is Patron of East Anglia Children’s Hospice in the UK, gave a speech, at Hospis Malaysia, her first one on foreign soil.  In her speech, Catherine said that, “I have learnt that delivering the best possible palliative care to children is vital. ”  Photos by Getty Images.
