THE DUKE AND DUCHESS OF CAMBRIDGE ON AN OFFICIAL VISIT TO SINGAPORE: DAY ONE

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge as representatives of Queen Elizabeth II, have begun their Diamond Jubilee Tour of the Far East that takes in Singapore, Malaysia, the Solomon Islands and Tuvalu.   On September 11, 2012 William and Catherine arrived in Singapore for the first day of their tour and visited the Singapore Botanical Gardens where they admired an orchid named after the late Diana, Princess of Wales.  The couple also admired an orchid named after the couple.  The duke and duchess are staying at the famed Raffles Hotel during their three days in Singapore.  Photos by Getty Images.
