The funeral of King Harald V of Norway’s sister, Princess Ragnhild, Mrs. Lorentzen, took place on September 28, 20212 in Oslo, Norway. The service was held at the Palace Chapel of the Royal Palace. The burial took place at Asker Church. The princess, who was born in 1930, was a great-great granddaughter of Queen Victoria. She spent several years in exile in the United States during the Second World War. In 1953, Princess Ragnhild married Erling Lorentzen, a Norwegian commoner from a wealthy family. Lorentzen had been a leader in Norway’s underground resistance movement in World War II. Princess Ragnhild marries Erling Lorentzen in 1953 in Asker, Norway
On September 27, 2012, in Oslo, Norway, Queen Sonja opened the new Astrup Fearnley Museum of Modern Art, designed by Renzo Piano. Queen Sonja was dressed in mourning for Princess Ragnhild, the sister of King Harald V of Norway. Princess Ragnhild, who lived for many years in Brazil, was married to a highly successful businessman, Erling Lorentzen, a leader in the Norwegian underground resistance in World War II. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have ended their Diamond Jubilee Tour of the Far East and South Pacific on behalf of Queen Elizabeth II. William and Catherine’s last stop was Tuvalu and from there, the couple was given a colorful send off by the local inhabitants.
