QUEEN ELIZABETH II UNVEILS THE BOMBER COMMAND MEMORIAL IN LONDON’S GREEN PARK

Queen Elizabeth II unveiled the Bomber Command Memorial in London’s Green Park on June 28, 2012.  The unveiling of the  £6m memorial, which was designed by Liam O’Connor, was attended by members of the British royal family as well as families of the deceased, and veterans in memory of the over 55,573 airmen of Bomber Command who gave their lives for king and country in the Second World War.   Photos by Getty Images.
