QUEEN ELIZABETH II’S HORSE WINS THE QUEEN’S VASE RACE AT ROYAL ASCOT, DAY FOUR

On the fourth day of Royal Ascot, Queen Elizabeth II, a keen horse breeder, in her Diamond Jubilee year, saw her horse, Estimate, win the Queen’s Vase Race.  It was her twenty-first Royal Ascot win.  The Queen beamed with delight as her horse won by five lengths.  Estimate had been favored to win by the bookies.  The Queen won on the penultimate day of the famed race horse race meeting.  The Duke of Edinburgh presented the winning trophy to the queen on June 22, 2012.  Photos by Bauer Griffin and Getty Images.
