BRITAIN’S PRINCE HARRY RECEIVES AN AWARD FOR HIS WORK WITH HELP THE HEROES

Prince Harry received an award for his work with Help the Heroes, a charity aimed at helping those who have been wounded in Britain’s conflicts.   He attended the Atlantic Council’s Annual Awards Dinner in his honor at at Ritz Carlton Hotel in Washington, DC on May 7, 2012.  In his speech, Prince Harry said, “So many lives have been lost and so many changed forever by the wounds that they have suffered in the course of their duties. They have paid a terrible price to keep us safe and free.”  The prince went on to add: “The very least we owe them is to make sure that they and their brave families have everything they need through their darkest days … for these selfless people, it is after the guns have fallen silent, the din of battle quietened, that the real fight begins.”  Photos by Getty Images.
