The Grand Duke and Grand Duchess of Luxembourg are on an official visit to Norway. On the first day, Queen Sonja of Norway and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg visited the Oscarshall summer palace on May 30, 2011. King Harald and Queen Sonja of Norway, along with the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess, attended a wreath laying ceremony at the National Monument at Akershus Fortress, also on the first day of the state visit. On the second day, May 31, 2012, the Grand Duke visited the Oslo stock exchange while the Grand Duchess, accompanied by Queen Sonja, visited the National Gallery. Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh presided over another large garden party at Buckingham Palace on May 29, 2012. The gathering drew plenty of attention as it was also attended by the Duchess of Cambridge, dressed in a stylish long-sleeved dress by Emilia Wickstead, last seen only two weeks ago when the Queen hosted a lunch for foreign sovereigns at Windsor Castle. This time, Catherine, whose first time it was attending a Buckingham Palace garden party, paired the dress with a matching pink hat. Princess Charlene graced the 2012 world famous Monaco Grand Prix automobile race on May 28. The annual Monaco Grand Prix, held on the Circuit de Monaco, has been held since 1929. Also known as the Grand Prix de Monaco, it is among the world’s most prestigious automobile races and regularly draws celebrities and other luminaries as spectators.
