On April 29, 2012, William and Catherine, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, celebrated their first wedding anniversary. The couple married in an elaborate ceremony at Westminster Cathedral, watched by billions around the world. In the first year since joining the royal family, Catherine has been an asset to the royal family and has been gradually introduced to carrying out official duties, including solo ones. She is also taking on the patronage of a number of charitable organizations. The duke and duchess since their marriage have paid official visits abroad to Canada and California. This year, with Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee, the spotlight will not only be on the queen, but also on William and Catherine as they help the royal family celebrate this momentous milestone.
