Queen Elizabeth II celebrated her 86th birthday on April 21, 2012.  The Royal Navy fired a 21-gun salute in honor of the monarch at Portsmouth Harbor on the south coast in England.  At the Tower of London, the Royal Gibraltar Regiment fired a 62-gun salute.   A 21-gun salute was fired at Windsor Great Park in honor of the queen and a 41-gun salute was fired in Hyde Park by the King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery with galloping horses used to pull six World War I era guns into position.  At 10 second intervals, 41 rounds were fired to honor the queen on her birthday.  Photos by Corbis and Getty Images.
