On April 9, 2012, the seventh anniversary of her wedding to the Prince of Wales, Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall was a named a Dame Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order by her mother-in-law, Queen Elizabeth II. This is the highest female rank in the Royal Victorian Order. It is a personal gift by the Queen in recognition of the duchess’s “personal” service to the monarchy.
