The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment (HCMR) have been busy with preparations for celebrations connected with Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee which will be held in June 2012. The mounted regiment will participate in a Sovereign’s Escort from Parliament to Buckingham Palace involving 116 men. They, along with their horses will ride before and after the carriage carrying the Queen. In St. Paul’s Cathedral, the State Trumpeters of the Household Cavalry will be playing fanfares during the Jubilee Service that will be held there. In advance of the Escort, the double mounted band comprising of 53 musicians and horses of the Household Cavalry will be marching in the processional route.
