TE DEUM SERVICE OF THANKSGIVING FOR THE BIRTH OF PRINCESS ESTELLE OF SWEDEN

A Te Deum service took place in the Royal Chapel of Stockholm’s Royal Palace on February 24, 2012, to give thanks and praise God for the birth of Princess Estelle of Sweden, the first child of Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel.  Princess Estelle is second in line to the Swedish throne.  In attendance at the service were the baby princess’s father, Prince Daniel, and her grandparents, King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia and Olle and Ewa Westling, along with Prince Carl Philip of Sweden and Prince Daniel’s sister and brother-in-law.  Inaugurated in 1754 by King Adolf Frederik and Queen Lovisa Ulrika, the Royal Chapel, is a beautiful space that was designed in the Baroque and Rococo styles.   Photos by Getty Images.
