PRINCE ALBERT II AND PRINCESS CHARLENE OF MONACO AT FESTIVITIES TO MARK MONACO’S PATRON, SAINT DEVOTE

Prince Albert II of Monaco and his wife, Princess Charlene, attended festivities to mark Monaco’s patron saint, St. Devote, martyred during during the persecutions of Diocletian and Maximian.  Her body was placed on a boat bound for Africa but landed in present day Monaco, where a chapel was built in her honor.  Her feast day is January 27.  On January 26 and 27, 2011, Prince Albert, Princess Charlene, Princess Caroline and her daughter, Princess Alexandra of Hanover participated in various festivities to honor St. Devote.  Photos by Getty Images.
