King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden presided over the 2011 Nobel Prize Ceremony which took place at Stockholm’s Concert Hall on December 10. The Nobel laureates in physics, chemistry, literature and medicine received their awards in a gala ceremony on the anniversary of the death of the prize founder Alfred Nobel. The glittering event saw guests and the laureates clad evening gowns for the women and white tie and tails for the men. Also in attendance at the ceremony were the King and Queen’s daughter, a heavily pregnant Crown Princess Victoria, her husband, Prince Daniel and the King and Queen’s son, Prince Carl Philip.
