THE CAMBRIDGES ARRIVE IN CALIFORNIA, JULY 8, 2011: DAY ONE OF THE U.S. VISIT

WILLIAM AND CATHERINE HAVE ARRIVED IN CALIFORNIA FROM CALGARY, BEGINNING DAY ONE OF THEIR U.S. VISIT

Fresh from their successful visit to Canada, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have arrived in Los Angeles, California.  They flew in from Calgary on board a Canadian Air Force jet.  Having left Canada dressed in a striking red dress and coat, it was evident as Catherine descended the steps of the jet that she changed into a new outfit.  This time it was  lavender Peridot dress by Roksanda Illincic.  A taste of the American red, white and blue was evident in the duchess’s bouquet, given to her when she was welcomed upon her arrival at the airport.

The couple are in Los Angeles in part to help promote British technological interests in the U.S.  and so took part in the Venture Capital New Media Summit.  On the agenda for the couple will be a charity polo match, a black-tie BAFTA reception to promote British talent and a visit to Skid Row to see how youngsters are being helped in this area of Los Angeles.  This visit marks the first time that Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, has visited the United States.
