Brides and bridal gowns are always a favorite with many. For those interested in seeing more views of the bridal gown worn by Zara Phillips on her wedding day on July 30, 2011, here are more photos of the bride. The gown was designed by Stewart Parvin, who is couturier to Queen Elizabeth II. Created from ivory duchess silk, the gown was of a drop-waist design with tightly-fitting bodice, that fell gracefully and was accentuated with soft pleating. Zara’s veil was held in place by the Greek Meander Tiara, loaned by her mother, Princess Anne. The diamond tiara is in the collection of the British royal family, having been given to the Queen by her mother-in-law, Princess Alice of Greece.

Here are some photos of the royal guests who attended the wedding of Zara Phillips to Mike Tindall at Canongate Kirk, Edinburgh, Scotland on July 30, 2011. As the bride is the eldest granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth II, it was not surprising to find a contingent of the bride’s maternal relatives, most of whom are members of Britain’s royal family. The most prominent members to attend was the Queen, accompanied by her husband, the Duke of Edinburgh. Also present were Zara’s uncles and aunts, Prince Charles, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward as well as the Duchess of Cornwall and the Countess of Wessex. The Cambridges, William and Catherine, were there as well. Princess Eugenie and Beatrice of York rounded out the royal contingent.
THE WEDDING OF PRINCESS ANNE’S DAUGHTER, ZARA PHILLIPS, TO MIKE TINDALL AT CANONGATE KIRK IN EDINBURGH, SCOTLAND, JULY 30, 2011
Zara Anne Elizabeth Phillips, 30, the only daughter of the Princess Royal, and Queen Elizabeth’s II’s eldest granddaughter, married Michael James Tindall, 32, at the 17th century Canongate Kirk, on the Royal Mile in Edinburgh, Scotland. The bride and groom are top athletes – Zara was the 2006 Eventing World Champion, inheriting her parents’ equestrian skills. Mike, meanwhile, has been captain of the England national rugby team. This wedding was much more of a low key affair than that of Zara’s first cousin, Prince William.
The day turned out to be bright and sunny. The bride left Holyrood Palace for Canongate Kirk and arrived a few minutes late for the 3 p.m. ceremony. Zara wore a traditional gown in ivory silk with a full-length veil. She also wore the Greek Key Tiara loaned to her by her mother, Princess Anne. Various members of the royal family attended, including the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh, the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall as well as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. The wedding reception took place at Holyrood Palace, the official residence of the monarch in Scotland.

Mainly younger members of Britain’s royal family boarded the former royal yacht Britannia, permanently anchored at Leith, Edinburgh to attend a pre-wedding reception for Zara Phillips and her fiance, Mike Tindall. The yacht was decommissioned in 1997 after being in service as a royal yacht for forty-four years. Zara is familiar with the Britannia, having sailed on board and witnessing as well, the yacht’s decommissioning. Among those attending the reception were the Princess Royal, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, the Earl and Countess of Wessex, Prince Harry and the Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie.

On July 28, 2011, Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall attended their wedding rehearsal at the 17th century Canongate Kirk on Edinburgh’s famous Royal Mile. Zara’s mother, Princess Anne, the Princess Royal, and her husband,Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence. Zara’s brother, Peter Phillips, and her father, Captain Mark Phillips were also at the rehearsal.

All eyes are on the wedding of Princess Anne’s daughter, Zara Phillips, 30, who is set to marry Mike Tindall, 32 on July 30, 2011 at Canongate Kirk in Edinburgh, Scotland. On July 28, preparations were earnestly underway as workers readied the church for the Saturday wedding. Police were also at hand, inspecting the church and grounds.
